Northern Vietnam has lowlands around the delta of the Red River, southern Vietnam around the Mekong River delta. Its location in the South China Sea makes the country vulnerable to tropical storms.
Temperatures vary much more in the northern part of the country, which includes the capital Hanoi. In the summer months it’s tropically warm, and in the winter it’s 20 to 24 degrees Celsius during the day, on average.
