10 day tour of Nicaragua:


Day 1 – Arrival in Managua, transfer to León
Upon arrival you will be picked up at the Managua airport and transferred to your hotel in León City, a two-hour ride away.
Depending on your flight schedule, you may need to spend the first night in Managua City.

Day 2- Day off in León
León has many beautiful buildings with a rich history. There are many hotels, museums, churches and parks. Visiting the León Cathedral is a must when you are in León city. You can enter inside the cathedral and even climb up to the roof to enjoy a beautiful view of the surroundings. If you’d rather take it easy today, you can also relax by the swimming pool at your hotel.

Day 3 – Cerro Negro volcano
Today you will go on a guided tour to the Cerro Negro active volcano, one of the youngest volcanoes in the world. Hike to the top in just over an hour and enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding volcanoes and the crater of Cerro Negro. After taking some photos and enjoying the view, you will have two options: walk back down to the bottom of the volcano or slide down this active volcano on a sandboard.

Day 4 – From León to Granada
Today you will be heading to the oldest colonial city in continental Latin America. Upon arrival, you will be free to explore the city. There are various optional activities in store for you. For example, a visit to El Convento de San Francisco is very worthwhile. In this former monastery you can see an impressive collection of pre-Columbian sculptures and an exhibition about the history of Nicaragua. You can also stop by La Casa de los Leones, a stately mansion renovated in 1920. It is known for its exhibitions and concerts. Take a chance to also visit La Calzada Street and enjoy the cultural and lounge environment of its several bars and cafés.

Day 5 – Local art and active volcano
You start the day with a guided tour to the Masaya Handicraft Market and Los Pueblo Blancos. You will visit talented local people in San Juan de Oriente who will show you how they work with clay to create beautiful pottery. You will have lunch with a fantastic view overlooking the Apoyo Lagoon and Granada city. You will finish the day with a visit to the Masaya Volcano to witness the lava pool in its crater: a really amazing experience for adults and kids alike.

Day 6 – Volcanoes and lake
Visit the biggest island of the world with two volcanoes within a freshwater lake – one of the top ten natural islands to visit. A private transfer will take you from Granada to San Jorge. Here you will board the ferry to Moyogalpa, the largest settlement in Ometepe. Once ashore, you will be taken to your hotel.

Day 7 – Ometepe Island Tour
A tour guide will pick you up at your hotel to visit some of the best attraction sites of Ometepe. Make sure to pack your swimming suit and camera as there will be fantastic photo-worthy views and gorgeous places to swim and relax.

Day 8 – Beaches of the Pacific Ocean
In the morning, you’ll be taken to the port of Moyogalpa where you will take the ferry back to San Jorge. From here, you will go further to San Juan del Sur, a picturesque fishing village situated in a beautiful bay along the Pacific Ocean.

Day 9 – San Juan del Sur to Managua (B)
It’s time to travel back to Managua and prepare yourself to go back home. A transfer will pick you up in the afternoon, so you will have the morning to enjoy a bit more of the beach.

Day 10 – Departure from Nicaragua / Return home
It’s time to pack your memories along with your bags and head back home. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the Managua airport and finish your memorable trip through Nicaragua.
