Not only will you meet the locals and experience village life in the Kathmandu valley, but you will also have the chance to meet the Tharu in the South of Nepal. Enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas, go on a jungle adventure in Chitwan National Park, visit the birthplace of Buddha in Lumbini, see the religious sites of Pashupatinath and Swayambunath and of course the stupa of Boudhanath. Finish your journey in Bhaktapur, also known as the city of pottery.

Highlights of Nepal
Route: Kathmandu – Patan – Nagarkot – Pokhara – Chitwan – Bandipur – Kathmandu
Day 1 – Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal! We will meet you at the airport and escort you to your accommodation, located just outside of the tourist hub of Thamel. Depending on your time of arrival, explore the city in the afternoon or relax in your hotel.
Day 2 – Kathmandu to Patan
Spend the day visiting some cultural highlights: start off by climb the stairs to Swayambunath temple, where you see beautiful Buddhist shrines and the stupa. The panoramic view on the city and the playing monkeys make it a unique experience. Continue your visit to the Hindu temple complex of Pashupatinath where you can observe ritual burnings and walk between old temples. In the afternoon, continue your journey to the Royal City of Patan, with its beautiful medieval Durbar Square.
Day 3 – to Bhaktapur to Nagarkot
After breakfast, you continue your tour in the direction Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is another Royal City, marked by beautiful temples. It is also home to Nepal’s premium pottery makers – stroll the alleyways around the Durbar Square among their clay ovens and assorted pottery.
In the afternoon, the car a car will take you to Nagarkot, also known as the “hill station” of the Kathmandu valley. Since it is located on a hill, the panoramic views of the Himalayan range are astonishing. You can rest here between the greenery while enjoying a view on some of the highest mountains in the world.
Day 4 – to Sauraha and Chitwan National Park
Get ready for a bit of driving today, as it will take us approximately 6 to 7 hours to drive to Sauraha, next to Chitwan National Park. Stretch your legs after this ride and walk along the riverbanks to see some local Tharu villages or wildlife around the river.
Day 5 – Sauraha and Chitwan National Park
Today will be spent exploring Chitwan National Park. The day starts with a boat trip in a traditional wooden canoe. Your local guide will point out birds, crocodiles and other mammals living along the riverside. If you are lucky, you could even see some bigger animals, like an elephant or a rhino. After the boat ride, the guide will take you for a jungle walk inside the park, on a quest for some deer, a rhino, monkeys,… and if you are very lucky perhaps a bengal tiger. You end your day with a visit to the Elephant Breeding Centre, where you can see elephants of all ages.
Day 6 – drive to Pokhara
Today you leave for Pokhara, with it’s beautiful Phewa Lake. After check-in, spend the rest of the afternoon at your own leisure in Pokhara.
Day 7 – Pokhara
Walk up the hill to Sarangkot in the early morning and enjoy a beautiful sunrise overlooking the Annapurna mountains. Afterwards you can visit Devi’s Falls, Seti’s Gorge and the old bazaar of Pokhara. Finish your day with a boat trip on the Lake towards the little island with the Barahi temple.
Day 8 – drive to Bandipur
We return slowly in direction the Kathmandu, with a last stop in Bandipur. Bandipur is a beautiful medieval Newari village, where you can enjoy a relaxing walk through the lush green surroundings. The centre of Bandipur is car-free, which makes it ver pleasant to walk around.
Day 9 – drive to Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu in the morning and arrive in the early afternoon. The rest of the can be spent strolling around town and visiting the little markets in the old streets around Durbar Square.
Day 10 – Departure
Your journey through the highlights of Nepal comes to an end today. A transfer will be organized from your hotel to the airport, where you will board your flight home.
